The Office of the University Registrar will be closed for Winter Break, beginning at 4:30 p.m. (EST) on Dec. 23, 2024. We will reopen at 8:00 a.m. (EST) on Jan. 2, 2025.

Please note: many transcript orders placed via Parchment will be fulfilled automatically, but paper transcript orders, and any orders requiring manual review by Registrar staff, will be processed in the order received when the University reopens on January 2, 2025. Requests for reissued diplomas, minor certificates, and certificates must be received by Dec. 18 in order to be processed before the end of this year.

There are a variety of resources and services available for parents of Penn State students, including those that pertain to their student's official academic record if consent is granted by the student.

Order a Transcript

An official transcript is the University's certified statement of a student's academic record. Learn how to order an official paper or electronic transcript on behalf of your student from Penn State.

Verify Student Enrollment

Enrollment verifications provide confirmation of enrollment status, dates of attendance, and degree(s) conferred. Verification is used to confirm this information to insurers, lenders, employers, and other organizations.

In order for parents to view any portion of their students' educational record, the student must provide consent through the delegated access process.

LionPATH Delegated Access

Penn State's policy on Confidentiality of Student Records is designed to comply with the 1974 federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This federal law prohibits disclosure of student records information without prior consent of the student.

Through LionPATH, students may grant delegated access to parents, guardians, or other individuals to view specific student data in LionPATH. The student can determine who they wish to delegate to, what areas they wish to provide access to, and when to activate or deactivate those delegates as needed. Ultimately, the student may provide delegated access in LionPATH to the following areas:

  • Enrollment Verification Requests
  • Class Schedule
  • Grades
  • Holds
  • To Do List
  • Financial Aid
